THE WHISTLER uncovered that the 50-year-old woman, who had endured days of starvation and terror in the kidnappers’ den, collapsed shortly after ransom was paid for her release — in circumstances villagers are calling “mysterious and heartbreaking.”

According to a family insider, barely minutes after the victims were freed, sudden gunshots erupted near the bush where they had been held, sending the weakened victims running wildly for cover.
